Camp Rules

Colossians 3:23 “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord”--- As a student of TCGMC, it should be your desire to fulfill God’s will for your life with your best effort. The following guidelines should help us as a group to work together to accomplish His will at TCGMC.

ATTENDANCE POLICY:

Students must attend all classes, practice, group sessions and private lessons (piano or voice) for which they have enrolled and been assigned. Any absence must be cleared in advance by the teacher or principal.

CLASSES:

The principal will place students in the class that will best complement their ability. Classes are approximately 45 minutes with breaks and refreshments dispersed intermittently throughout the day. Food and/or drinks are not permitted in the classroom. Gum is not permitted during class or singing sessions.

Devotion will be at 9:00 each morning. Attendance is mandatory for all students and staff are encouraged to attend. The office will be closed during devotion. The King James Version of the Bible will be used; Students should bring their Bible to devotion. All electronic devices should be silenced during devotion and students are not allowed to have ear buds or other distractions for any class or group session.

DISCIPLINE:

To ensure the success of our school and the safety of our students, all students and staff are expected to follow the rules that are outlined in the handbook. Profanity and disrespect toward other students and staff will not be tolerated.

Any discussions of inappropriate behavior will be held in the office and/or a designated area with the student, the staff member observing the infraction along with the President, Principal and/or a board member. There will always be representatives of both sexes in the meeting. A student may be expelled for any of the following offences: a) Leaving the campus unauthorized, b) Failing to abide by dorm rules, c) Absenteeism, d) Disrespect toward staff or other students, e) Persistent violations of any rules contained in this contract or camp procedures and policy.

DORMITORY:

Only one student per bed. Beds cannot be pushed together due to fire codes.

Students are not allowed in the dorm of the opposite sex.

All electronic devices will be powered off before lights out and remain off until 6:00 a.m.

Dorms will be routinely inspected.

Guests will not stay overnight in the dorms without permission of the President.

Skates, in-line skates, skateboards, paintball, lasers, or anything of this nature are not permitted on campus.

DRESS CODE: (I Cor. 3:16, 6:19-20, I John 2:16, Prov. 11:22, Deut. 22:5)

TCGMC has an established dress code to promote Christianity, teach respect for authority, and represent high moral standards. Ladies: conservative, modest knee length dresses or skirts or long pants. Skinny jeans and leggings are not permitted unless worn as an undergarment. All skirts and dresses must be at least knee length. All shirts, blouses and dresses must have sleeves, cover the midriff when arms are extended over the head, and not be low cut. Gentlemen: long pants.

Please: No shorts, halters or tank tops. Clothes cannot have holes, especially jeans. Clothes cannot display any inappropriate logos, pictures or slogans. The President or designee will monitor the dress code.

Sunday dress will be worn by students and staff for closing night and any performance event of the camp. No visible body piercing is permitted except for the ears of females. All staff will adhere to the dress code. We ask that you inform guests to the camp that we are using a Baptist facility. We should strive to honor God and our hosts in our dress and conduct.

Parents, this is an area where we have much concern. We request that you assist us by not allowing your child to bring inappropriate clothing.

MEDICATION:

All medication will be kept in the cafeteria by Pam White

Parents will sign a release for the meds to be given by Pam or her designated adult.

Medication will not be shared.

Medication will only be given to the student whose name is on the prescription and/or over the counter medication bottles.

Upon arrival, please notify Pam White of any allergies.

Parents/Guardians are responsible for all medical charges associated with going to the Doctor or ER.

SIGN-OUT:

Underage students will not leave campus unless it is with an adult family member or approved designee of the parents with signed release. Anyone exiting the campus will notify the office of their departure and return.

PHONE USE:

Cell phone use will be limited. There will be no cell phone use during class, devotion, singing sessions, or private lessons (calls or texting). Phones will be taken from students if used during these times and submitted to the President or office designee. Students may retrieve their phone by meeting with the President to discuss the infraction.

Teachers have the discretion to have students deposit phones in a designated area during class. If the student has repeated discipline problems concerning the phone, it will be taken to the office and the parent will be notified that the cell phone will be stored in the office with a designated time set for the student to use the cell phone. A phone with inappropriate pictures or text messages will be taken and stored in the office and parents will be notified. Parents: We do not want to make an issue with cell phones; therefore, we ask that you speak with your student about appropriate cell phone use while at TCGMC.

ALCOHOL AND DRUGS:

Staff, students, or guests shall not possess, use, transmit or be under the influence of any controlled substance or illegal drug on camp premises or at a camp related activity, function or event. Students shall not possess or use cigarettes, vapes or tobacco products while on camp premises or at a camp activity or event. Adults are requested to not smoke or use tobacco products in the presence of students and visitors.

FIREARMS:

If you travel with a firearm in your vehicle, it must be locked in a lock box or locked in the glove box of your locked vehicle. The firearm must be double locked while in your vehicle.

WEEKENDS:

All students are encouraged to return home during the weekend. If a student needs to stay on campus during the weekend, the parent should inform the office at the time of registration. Students will be responsible for their own expenses during the weekend.
